Scrap car pickup along Chicago's industrial corridors

Smart Scrap Metal Buyers buys junk and scrap cars on the South and Southwest Sides, and these six neighbourhoods each have their own page: Bridgeport, McKinley Park, Back of the Yards, Pilsen, Archer Heights and Clearing. The tow is free and payment is made at pickup.

Two short steps: the car's details first, then how to reach you. Every field must be filled in.

The six corridor neighbourhoods

Why "yards and corridors"?

The yards are Chicago's, not ours. The Union Stock Yards filled the land from Halsted to Ashland and Pershing to 47th until 1971. The Belt Railway's Clearing Yard sits south of Midway. Between them, the South Branch of the Chicago River runs past Pilsen and Bridgeport, Bubbly Creek splits Bridgeport from McKinley Park, and the Central Manufacturing District lines Pershing Road. These neighbourhoods grew up around that industry, and they're the ones our area pages cover.

We don't have a yard, scale or drop-off in any of them. Smart Scrap Metal Buyers is a service-area business: we come to the car, tow it for free and pay you at pickup.

Beyond the corridors

The six pages above are where we go into local detail, but the pickup area is much wider: Chicago and the Chicagoland suburbs in Cook, DuPage and Will counties (Joliet and Aurora included), plus Northwest Indiana up to Gary: Hammond, Whiting, East Chicago, Munster, Highland, Griffith, Gary, Merrillville, Hobart, Lake Station and New Chicago. If your street isn't on a page here, the form still works the same way.

How a corridor pickup works

Send the year, make, model and title status. We call with an offer. Tell us where the car sits and whether it rolls, agree a time (same-day pickup is often possible), and payment is made at pickup as the car is loaded. After that, it goes into scrap car recycling and its metal is sold on to be melted again.
